Richard Anderson

Executive Director

Richard Anderson has been with the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority since 2010. He served as the Agency’s Director of Operations from 2010 until 2023 and then as Deputy Director until he was appointed Executive Director of the Authority in August 2024. Mr. Anderson has 30 years of experience in utility operations, process control, and project management. Before the Authority, Mr. Anderson held various operations management positions with Tampa Bay Water and worked for a large electric utility in the power generation division.

Mr. Anderson is an active member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) since 1998, having served as chair of the Florida Section of the AWWA as well as various Council and Regional positions, and currently is the AWWA Association Director representing the Florida Section. He is the recipient of the Allen B. Roberts Award, Robert L. Claudy Award, and Region IV Outstanding Operator of the Year. Mr. Anderson is also a member of the Florida Water Pollution & Control Operator’s Association.

Mr. Anderson is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in International Relations/Government and is a Class “A” licensed Water Plan Operator in both Florida and Georgia.
