Mike Coates, PG

Mike Coates has been with the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority since 2006, serving as Water Resources Director from 2006 until 2012, and Deputy Director (Chief Operating Officer) for the Agency from 2012 until his hire as Executive Director of the Authority in August 2021. Mike is a professional geologist with a career spanning 41 years including six years in oil and natural gas exploration, and the past 35 years in Florida, working in utility operations and management, water resources evaluation, and water supply planning and development for the Authority, Tampa Bay Water, and the South Florida and Southwest Florida Water Management Districts. He is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA).

Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Central Michigan University and is a registered professional geologist in the state of Florida.
